Bonding – Day 14
Last Day of Bonding – Yaaaay!!!
Don’t know why I am getting excited about it being the last day of bonding because it isn’t really – Well, it would be if we had court tomorrow but we don’t or on Friday and we do hope it will be Monday…
Today Alfiya brought us in the register to sign and told us there was a problem with our dossiers – problem being that they are missing our passport copies, marriage certs, immigration clearance cert. I told her that they had all been sent, some with the original dossier and kept, and some in September. Nicole has confirmed that they were all here in Kazakhstan!! Hope it is not going to be a problem but…. I am not going to get bothered about it just yet!!
At lunchtime we had a bit of variation to ‘Groundhog Day”. Before going to the Pizza Blue Café to get online we all had to go to the notary to sign forms to allow Elena to pick up our documents after court and to allow Alma to register our baby in Astana. That felt good like we were getting something done.
Had some nice emails today – it is lovely to hear from everyone. Think we are getting cabin fever in the bonding room – have all had enough and feel ready for court and home and return and paperwork and Almaty and then return home for good!!! What a long process! It certainly has got a lot more difficult since we were here in 2003.

Concentrating with my Daddy!!!
Kefir - a drink like natural yoghurt - All the babies drink it here and Babies like Sasha drink from a cup - no bottles for big Babies!!
I am learning lots today!!! Anyway, going to have a lazy evening, just read a book and maybe watch a movie on the laptop.
Learned some useful words today:
Hello – Zdravstvuite (For those with an Irish accent if you say ‘Stressed with ye’ you will have perfect pronunciation)
The above is more formal than the following Hello which you would use to talk to young children or people you know well..
Privet…… Sue said it is more like ‘Wotcha!’ so you would not use it to greet the carers everyday or to speak to the notary we visited at lunchtime!
A little – like I speak a little English or Russian is – chute chute – like un petit peu.
It is amazing how you can get by with a little.
